Our Expertise

The principals of the firm possess extensive expertise in the commercial real estate and structured finance sectors. Their backgrounds encompass a diverse range of roles, including direct involvement as principals in debt and equity transactions, origination of debt and equity for institutional and brokerage functions, credit underwriting, transaction structuring, distribution, and senior management responsibilities.

Their collective experience includes tenures at prominent multinational institutions such as Goldman Sachs, CIBC World Markets, Credit Suisse First Boston and Fitch Ratings, where they gained invaluable insights and skills. Additionally, they have contributed significantly to national firms, including Kushner Companies, Mission Peak Capital, the Reznick Group, and others. Most recently, the partners held executive positions at Meridian Capital Group, LLC, further solidifying their expertise and leadership in the industry.

Investment Focus

Real estate equity: GPRE invests in value-add and opportunistic real estate primarily as the direct Sponsor. The firm will also serve in a JV capacity as a co-GP, or as the lead LP, with operators looking for strategic partners and capital.

Mission driven real estate equity: GPRE invests in Affordable Multifamily and Affordable Veterans Housing. Providing affordable housing for U.S. veterans and their families is a primary focus of the firm.

Real estate debt: GPRE provides high-yield debt solutions spanning all tranches of the credit stack. First mortgages, mezzanine loans, preferred equity investments, B-notes and note-on-note financing are all areas of lending expertise and experience.

Note purchasing: GPRE will purchase whole loans, participations, and senior or junior tranches of existing loans.

Distress: GPRE will transact in the equity or credit of distressed situations depending on the anticipated path to resolution.
